Joey Frangieh (he/him جوي فرنجية (له is the proud son of Lebanese immigrants. He is a director, designer, and producer. He is currently the artistic director of the Boston Theater Company and the creative director of Gay Agenda Play.
Joey made history as the youngest person to ever direct at the 110 year old Boston Shubert Theatre, when he directed Finish Line: A Documentary Play About the 2013 Boston Marathon.
He has worked on Broadway four times, most recently as the assistant projection designer for the Tony Nominated play The Children at Manhattan Theater Club.
Previously he was the resident designer for the Boston Theater Critics Association and the studio assistant for Tony Award Winning lighting designer Justin Townsend.
He ran the 2017 and 2018 Boston Marathon and loves Ice Cream more than anything in the world.
Joey, as the director you are the guiding light that shines on the production as a whole.
What Frangieh has managed to create is a thoughtful, funny, and well-devised piece of theater that is surprisingly perceptive.
